The island of Rhodes is one of the larger Greek islands. It sits on the boarder of the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas about 10 miles off the coast of Turkey. We went to the town of Lindos on Mediterranean side of the island about 30 min from the town of Rhodes. The island is very beautiful and not too small to be just a tourist attraction. The Colossus of Rhodes does not exist anymore but we say the location people think it was. This would be the second ancient wonder we saw.
Lindos is a picturesque town on the sea with an old acropolis on a hill next to the city. The acropolis gives spectacular views of the med and town. Most of the towns on the Greek islands are painted in white and Lindos is no exception.
After Lindos we went swimming in the Mediterranean. The water was clearer then most swimming pools and about 80 degrees. I could have swam in there all day. After swimming we ate lunch at a little place right on the ocean and everything they served was absolutely delicious.
Just to say we did it we went swimming in the Aegean so say we swam in both seas at the same time. The Aegean side of Rhodes is always windy. It was not a pleasurable swim in the Aegean but I can now say I swam in the Aegean and the Mediterranean in the same day. After Rhodes was Ephesus
