The small island of Myconos is known for its nightlife but I was there during the day. My main interest in Myconos was the island of Delos just 2 miles away. Delos is an uninhabited island that is also the birth place of Apollo. I went to Delos in the morning and then walked around Myconos in the afternoon. I walked around without my camera. Myconos has a mascot, the white pelican. There are 3 of them just walking around the town. As we turned a corner we stumbled across one of these monster birds just sitting in the middle of the sidewalk. I was surprised at how large they are and soft (yes I touched it). Rhodes was next after Myconos
Delos is a fantastic site. Most of the island has been pillaged because all the temples and ruins are visible from the sea and anyone going past will see it and take stuff. Obviously it is protected now but not for the last 2 thousand years. My favorite ruins on the island were the lions.
