After the boat left Venice the next stop was Dubrovnik, Croatia. Dubrovnik is on the southern part of Croatia along the Dalmatian coast. There is an old town that is surrounded by walls and a modern city outside the walls. I spent the majority of my time walking around the old town. People are able to walk along the top of the wall around the entire perimeter of the city. There is an old fort outside the city walls that gives spectacular views of the city.
The old town is touristy with shops lining the main streets, but not over touristy like some of the Greek island cities. The food here was delicious. I had a Veal steak stuffed with cheese and prosciutto. The Croats were friendly people and I did not feel worried at all about crime or being in danger. The water here in the Adriatic was a very deep blue and clear. The next place after Dubrovnik was Corfu.
